CMS Settles on 90-Day Reporting Period for Meaningful Use

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a final rule that offers flexibility and affirms a 90-day reporting period for attesting to meaningful use of electronic medical records for hospitals and physicians.

Also, of special significance, CMS is finalizing the addition of a new exception from the Medicare payment adjustments.  This exception will apply to eligible professionals, eligible hospitals, and critical access hospitals.

The qualification/review process will require an application to demonstrate that compliance is not possible because the EHR used has been decertified under ONC’s (the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT) Health IT Certification Program.

If you feel your EHR is not certified or has lost its certification, we can help.

OmniMD EHR, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and Medical Billing service have helped over 12,000 healthcare professionals improve their clinical operations, patient care, and collections.
